Topic: Access speed of MoWeS

Brilliant package - easy to instal (from an end-user like myself). It is going to be excellent for testing Moodle related items - thanks heaps.

One question - what is the access speed meant to be like.

I have the MoWeS setup on a 2GB USB stick, using Moodle 1.8. Everything installed perfectly - by what I could see. Instructions from the Moodle installation were easy to follow and action.

It is a great deal slower than when working on the internet. Pages take a while to open and restoring courses take ages. Is this how it should be or are there settings that can be tweaked.

Dear Fred,

this heavily depends on your USB stick. Moodle is very database driven and hence is reading and writing a lot of stuff. If your USB is slow, the Moodle performance will be bad!
Try running it from your harddrive (just move the whole MoWeS folder somewhere on your harddrive) and see if there is a difference. If there is get a faster USB Stick.
