Powershell as CGI program

Hi moderators,

before I invest too much time and money: Is it possible to use powershell as cgi-interpreter in the MoWes Portable environment, preferably using the "post" method?

<form method="post" action="My_tool.ps1"> should work as it did in perl.

I'm asking because, for political reasons, I am forced to write my scripts in powershell instead of perl (my boss decided that all script code has to be powershell from now on) and I am terribly seeking a simple and portable web-frontend to my ps scripts. I'm someway optimistic, as powershell is available by default in all win7 and server2008 environments.

Robert

Can I customize Portable II to close when launched browser exits?

One of the features of Mowes Portable II is that it has the option to specify an external browser exe. If you recall, on the options screen you can opt to launch an alternate browser by specifying an external exe, which then displays it's own browser window. This is the way I use it (because I use an external browser which lets me customize the user interface). I want to be able to automatically close the entire Mowes program (and modules) anytime the external browser window is closed by the user. What happens now is that my users close the external window and then try to relaunch Mowes again (because that is how they get into the special browser).... but they get the error screen which says that the program is already running, so they manually have to close Mowes and then restart it to see my customized browser application.

There is another "open" source server launcher (but, I couldn't see how to download their source) called server2go, which auto exits exactly that way (when you close any browser it has launched, it closes everthing down). I would like to have that feature in my Mowes installation. That server2go is a actually very weak implementation in nearly all respects (so I would never use it), but they have that one feature which is very nice.

I have your source code and access to the tools to compile a VB6 application, but I don't know what code to alter to make that auto-exit happen. Maybe I would have to poll the external app periodically to see if it has closed, then do a shutdown of Mowes if it has. Is that some "how to" coding information which you might provide to me?

How to start phpMyAdmin?

I need to add PHPMyAdmin to my Mowes Portable II package, and it doesn't want to work.

I download PHPMyAdmin from MowesMixer, then unpack it to the same
directory as mowes.exe, as per the instructions. What next? The
included documentation.html file doesn't really seem to correlate with
config.inc.php

Frustrating thing is that I had already done this once previously, and it
was ridiculously simple - it "just worked", as they say. Now I need to
do it again on what is essentially the same install (a copy of the
backup I made before installing PHPMyAdmin last time) and for whatever
reason it doesn't want to run when I start it now -
although the MoWeS localhost webpage automatically opens now whereas it didn't
before adding phpMyAdmin.

Hi all. I followed instructions on mediawiki.org to setup a personal wiki using mowes. Unpacking PHP5, Apache2 & MySQL does work. But unpacking the MediaWiki package lets me end up in an infinite loop:

1) dialog "installation packages" --> click install
2) dialog "installing packages"
3) note "mowes has started mysql server. please confirm firewall warnings ... " etc --> i click OK
4) dialog (2) freezes, nothing happens
5) after a while note (3) appears again ... and so on ... and so on ...

Mowes/Apache/MySQL/PHP5 are "allowed" in Windows Firewall.

OS is Win 7 Professional 64 bit SP1

Does anyon know how to help? Thank you.
